SMILE 4 Special Needs (#271): Volunteers Support LSA Summer SMILE Camp for Special Needs (#132) on June 2, 2026

On June 2, 2026, Pearland volunteers helped kick off the 2026 LSA Summer Camp at the Special Needs Caring Center.  Volunteers assisted the center staff in providing engaging sessions featuring arts, dance, and yoga activities. Through individualized support and encouragement, volunteers helped participants build confidence while developing important academic, social, and motor skills.

During the activities, participants created their own artwork, expressed their creativity through painting, and practiced rhythm, movement, coordination, and fine motor skills. The volunteers played a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and enjoyable environment where every participant could actively engage and succeed.

Their dedication and positive attitude were highly praised by the center staff, who provided 100% positive feedback regarding the volunteers’ performance and contributions.

Prior to the camp, the volunteers also participated in a lesson preparation session alongside other community volunteers who will be supporting this year’s summer camp program.
