SMILE 4 Special Needs (#290): Volunteers Lead the LSA SMILE Summer Camp (#146) on Aug. 7th, 2026

On Friday Aug. 7th, 2026, volunteers assisted the staff at the 2026 LSA Summer SMILE Camp held at the Special Needs Caring Center, helping provide engaging and meaningful activities for campers with special needs.

Volunteers gave a special drawing class designed to bring creativity, encouragement, and joy to individuals with special needs. During the class, volunteers welcomed the participants and helped them get started with their drawing projects. Volunteers explained the activities, and offered individual assistance when needed. Participants were encouraged to use their imagination and express themselves through their own artwork.

The classroom quickly became a warm and cheerful environment. Some participants followed the drawing instructions closely, while others created their own unique designs. Volunteers patiently worked alongside the participants, offering guidance and encouragement while allowing everyone the freedom to explore their creativity.  The drawing class was another wonderful example of how youth volunteers can use their time and talents to make a positive difference.
