Achieve Together: Community Volleyball Class (#2) July 18 2026

On Saturday, July 18, high school volleyball player and volunteer Yurong Qiu taught a child from the community basic volleyball skills during the second-class program.

Yurong taught Ingrid how to pass a volleyball and helped instruct her where to pass, either higher, lower, closer to the net, or adjusting her platform. After Ingrid learned how to pass to a target, Yurong taught her how to set. At the end, Ingrid joined Yurong and her friends in a friendly 6-on-6 scrimmage. This scrimmage helped her visualize what it will be like to play with other people on the court in a real game setting.

This lesson was very productive, as Ingrid learned how to pass in different directions and angles, while improving on specific techniques and volleyball skills. She had a lot of fun learning new skills and playing with older kids.
