On Sunday, May 31, 2026, our volunteers hosted the 36th session of My PlayClub at Ed Thompson Inclusive Park.
At the event, our volunteers provided several stations for games, face painting, crafts and custom balloon arts including animal, sword, and flower wristbands. The room was packed throughout the entire event. The kids were completely thrilled to play with various games, show off their freshly painted faces. They often made multiple rounds to the balloon station. Through the interaction with the kids, our volunteers learned to listen, adapt, and understand diverse needs. The event helped to bridge isolated families into a connected community.
Our volunteers also introduced My PlayClub program to several parents who were interested in future events and other programs SMILE 4 Special Needs hosts. Towards the end of the event, families expressed how incredibly thankful they were for an event like My PlayClub.
My PlayClub provides a safe, inclusive environment where the special needs kids are completely accepted and can enjoy pure fun. It is also a powerful reminder to all of our volunteers, that a few hours of their day can directly ease a parent’s stress and give a kid a core memory of joy.
