SMILE 4 Special Needs (#249) Bucket Drumming Performance and Fundraising at Mid-Autumn Festival on October 4th, 2025

Our volunteers were invited to join individuals with special needs from the LSA Special Needs Caring Center (SNCC) and Fort Bend Chinese Church to perform a bucket drumming piece at the Mid-Autumn Festival on October 4, 2025. We were also grateful for the opportunity to fundraise for Project SMILE during the event.

Before the festival, volunteers thoughtfully prepared traditional holiday dishes and drinks. Together with the individuals with special needs, they managed the fundraising booth and shared their joy with the community. All proceeds ($120) will support life skills training programs at the Special Needs Caring Center.

The highlight of the event was a lively performance of “Happy” by volunteers and participants, which received enthusiastic applause and heartfelt appreciation from the audience.

This event not only celebrated cultural traditions but also showcased the power of inclusion and teamwork. Through music, collaboration, and community engagement, participants gained confidence and built lasting friendships.
