City and Neighbor support: Volunteers Conduct Street Outreach to Promote the 2026 Pearland LNY Festival on January 10th and 11th, 2026

Updated: 3 days ago

During the Houston Marathon weekend, from January 10th -11th, 2026, AYLUS volunteers wore Lunar New Year Festival T-shirts to promote the upcoming event in the marathon waiting area. Volunteers engaged with runners and spectators, introduced the festival, and encouraged them to scan the QR code displayed on the shirts. Many runners were able to scan the code while waiting or as they passed through the area, allowing them to quickly access event information and learn more about the Lunar New Year Festival. And some runners also scanned the QR code on the backside of the T-shirt during the running. This outreach increased event visibility and helped expand community awareness among a diverse audience.
