City and Neighbor Support: Volunteers Host the 10th Annual College Application Forum on July 25, 2026

On Saturday, July 25, 2026, volunteers organized the 10th Annual College Application Forum at the West Pearland Library. Six incoming students from prestigious colleges and universities, including a former president of our organization, were invited to share their firsthand experiences with the college application process.

Many high school students and their parents attended the forum in person, while a live Zoom session was available for those who were unable to attend. During the event, the six recent graduates discussed topics such as college preparation, application strategies, extracurricular involvement, essay writing, securing strong letters of recommendation, and balancing academic responsibilities with extracurricular activities. They answered a wide range of questions from the audience, providing practical advice and personal insights.

The forum was especially valuable for rising high school seniors, many of whom will begin their college application process this fall. By learning directly from students who had recently completed the admissions journey, attendees gained a clearer understanding of the application process, increased confidence in their own preparations, and practical tips for planning their next steps. The event also encouraged meaningful interaction between experienced college students and younger peers, reflecting our commitment to mentoring, leadership, and community service.

Volunteers (1.5 hours): Katherine Wu, Abigail Zheng, Hanson Cui, Meredith Zhang, Edwin Gao, Erick Gao
