Achieve Together: Community Science Class #1 on 07/18/2026

On Saturday, July 18, 2026, our volunteers hosted the first science introduction class of the summer science class series.  These classes are designed to provide an introduction of various science subjects that can include physics, chemistry, life science, and STEM engineering challenges. The topic of today’s class is physics – density. The series of the science classes are offered completely free to the elementary-age children in the Pearland community.  

Our volunteers have dedicated their time to researching engaging science topics, designing age-appropriate lesson plans and planning fun, hands-on activities to spark curiosity and inspire young learners. Their passion, creativity, and commitment to making learning exciting are helping build a meaningful educational experience for the students. 

Today’s first science class had a great outcome. A total of 14 students joined the class. The children were actively engaged from start to finish, eagerly asking thoughtful questions, and participating in every hands-on activity. Their laugher and enthusiasm filled the room as they explored what “density” is all about in a fun and interactive way. Thanks to everyone who joined the class. Seeing the children so curious and eager to explore inspired our volunteers to continue developing and offering more science classes. Our volunteers can’t wait to see our young scientists learn and discover together, in our future science classes!
