Achieve Together: Community Chess Class (#75) on July 27, 2025

On Sunday July 27, 2025, Joshua Meng, Brendon Jiang, and Alicia Zhang hosted the volunteer chess lesson. The students were introduced to basic chess concepts like creating chances in a game and tactical awareness in a position. They learned that even a seemingly equal position may be suddenly changed with a few good moves. Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to play against their fellow peers and implement what they learned.

Volunteers provided an opportunity for the community to learn about the wonders of chess, while still having fun, allowing them to practice concepts that they learned, gain knowledge, and improve their overall gameplay.
